Your dog isn't "just getting old." Your horse isn't "just stiff." That limp? It's not going away on its own.

Animals can't tell you where it hurts. But their body can — if someone knows what to look for.

This isn't pet massage. It's a real exam of how your animal's body is working — done by a doctor who's been certified to treat animals since a paralyzed kitten changed everything.

Why Dr. Karen — Not Just Any Chiropractor

Most chiropractors work on people. Some treat animals on the side. Dr. Karen wasn't planning on either — until a phone call changed everything.

A veterinarian friend called her about a paralyzed 12-week-old kitten that had been surrendered. Nobody expected much. Dr. Karen adjusted that kitten every day for four days. By the end of the week, it was running down her office hallway.

She enrolled in the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) certification program the following week. That moment — not a textbook — is why she does this.

She holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College (2009) and a B.S. in Zoology from Western Illinois University.

She doesn't guess. She knows how bodies work — human and animal.
That's what makes this different.

Is Your Animal a Candidate?

This care isn't for every pet. And it's not for every pet owner. Knowing that upfront saves everyone's time.

Built For

Dogs who aren't moving like they used to. Trouble with stairs. Slower on walks. Less playful. If something changed, that's not aging — that's a signal. Especially for breeds prone to hip problems or joint wear.

Cats who are slowing down. Stiffness after surgery. Less jumping. Less energy. Cats hide pain better than almost any animal. They need a provider who understands how their body works — and Dr. Karen does.

Horses who feel 'off.' Uneven movement. Fighting the saddle. Not recovering the way they should after work or competition. We look at spine and pelvis alignment — the foundation of how your horse moves.

Not Designed For

  • One-visit miracle seekers — problems that took months to develop don't get fixed in one appointment
  • Owners who won't follow through on a care plan that helps their animal long-term
  • Bargain shoppers — this is specialty care and we treat it that way

We'd rather be upfront about fit than waste your time or your animal's trust.

Veterinary Referral Required

Illinois law says your vet has to refer your animal to us before we can treat them. That's not a hassle. It's how safe, responsible care works.

Dr. Karen travels to partner vet offices for all animal appointments — she doesn't adjust animals at her own clinic. Appointments are available Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Each visit takes about 15 minutes.

Why Waiting
Makes It Worse

animals-hide-pain

Animals hide pain. It's instinct. By the time you see a limp or a behavior change, the real problem has been building for weeks — maybe months.

The question isn't "Is my pet hurting?"
It's "How long has my pet been covering it up?"

small probles to bigger

Small problems turn into bigger ones. Bigger ones turn into emergency vet visits nobody planned for.

getting help

Getting help early means faster results and less cost. We help your animal's body do what it's meant to do — move, heal, and recover on its own.

The Whole Household

Why Waiting Makes It Worse

A lot of our families bring their animals in because they already get chiropractic care themselves. They know how much better they feel. And they want the same thing for their pets.

Real answers, real care, and real outcomes
— two legs or four.
